How to Use Mental Maths Online Games in The Classroom

Now that we’ve uncovered the magic of online math games, let’s dive into how you can make the most of them in your primary classroom:

  1. Warm-up Activities: Kick off your math class with a quick online game to get those mental gears turning and prepare students for the day ahead. A short, engaging warm-up sets a positive tone for the entire lesson.
  2. Homework or Practice: Assign online games as homework or practice exercises. This way, students can reinforce their math skills outside of class time, and parents can join in the fun too.
  3. Learning Centres: Spice up your classroom with learning centres where students can rotate through different activities, including online math games. This interactive approach adds excitement and variety to the learning environment.
  4. Reward System: Turn online games into rewards or incentives. When students complete their work or reach a milestone, offer them some game time as a well-deserved treat. It’s a win-win scenario!

Online math games are like secret weapons for transforming mental maths into thrilling adventures for your primary students. Incorporate them into your teaching toolkit, and witness your students become confident, fluent mathematicians while having a blast along the way.
