We’ve created a differentiated range of  Halloween pattern block mats to meet a wide range of student ability levels, they are suitable for students from Kindergarten to Year 6.

Your students will develop their spatial and geometry skills with this differentiated set of 20 Halloween Pattern Block Mats. Just print, copy, and laminate and add these to your October 31st Math Centers for some Spooky Fun!

These Halloween Pattern Block Puzzle Mats will help your students develop and strengthen so many concepts, including:

• Sort, describe, match and name 2d shapes
• Describe the position and movement of objects- know that shapes can change in size & orientation and still be the same shape
• Symmetry
• Flip, Slide, Turns
• enlargements
• Reflections
• Rotations
• Tessellations
• New shapes from ‘old’
• Combine pattern blocks to create new shapes

There are 3 sets:

• Red – Easy – images using colour pattern blocks 
• Green – Intermediate – black line outlines of the pattern block shapes
• Yellow – Difficult – Black image 
• STEM – 4 levels – “I can build” & “Can you build?” task cards

Within each set, there are 10 different designs and 2 levels of difficulty:

Level 1 includes the names of the pattern block shapes with a matching image as a prompt to learn the names of the 2D shapes used in the design –

• Build – Students match the pattern blocks to the FULL-COLOUR Christmas shapes
• Name – Then they identify & name the shape they used in the design using the images to help them
• Count – Finally, they count how many of each shape they used in the design

Level 2 includes the names of the pattern block shapes ONLY as a prompt to learn the names of the 2D shapes used in the design –

• Build – Students match the pattern blocks to the FULL-COLOUR Christmas shapes
• Name – Then they identify & name the shape they used in the design using the images to help them
• Count – Finally, they count how many of each shape they used in the design
